This public soiree was duller than expected. A lot of business talk and charity posturing went on around him. It was all excruciatingly uninteresting after the first hour. Marcelo had thought about making a break for it, but his date seemed to having a better chance stumping for her father's business than Marcelo was for his own. Currently, he sipped his glass of tepid champagne as Stephanie chatted with some older gentlemen.

The dark-skinned Brazilian looked his girlfriend over. The silken dress she wore clung to her curves like one false move would shake the material free. Marcelo liked that thought. He quickly finished his drink and approached Stephanie. He made sure he got a nod from the gentlemen she was talking to before stepping behind her. He wasn't against her, but he was close enough to start to feel her body heat. The conversation she was having was wrapping up.

He still had an empty glass in one hand. It was a distraction as he wiggled it by its stem between his fingers and looked around. It appeared he was looking for one of the servers for a refill when his other hand brushed along Stephanie's side from just under her breast to her hip.

After the men left, Stephanie leaned back through the small amount of space Marcelo had left between them. She blinked innocently at him. "Something up, darling?"

"Something could be, querida" he answered as he put his empty champagne glass on a passing server's tray. He waved off the offer of another.

"Mm. As much as I would love to go with you, I still have another hour to be here. I have to wait for father to show up and do the introductions I've been working on." She reached up and brushed her fingertips gently along his jaw.

"Well, we don't have to go anywhere," he suggested with a small leer.

"Marcelo." Stephanie then sputtered as she blushed a deep crimson. She very gently swatted his shoulder. "I don't think that belongs on the dance floor."

"No, but in one of the shadowy, private alcoves that are all over the place." He dragged his eyes over to one that seemed out of the way. "Though it does depend on how quiet you can be..."
